Bryony and Chris had an elegant and sophisticated wedding celebration at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow - with some surprise twists in the evening! With an ivory colour palette and thoughtful styling throughout, this wedding felt effortlessly classy and I captured the memories captured in a natural, relaxed way.
We'd already met for a pre-wedding photoshoot, which the couple said helped to really put them at ease in front of the camera, as well as giving them some more beautiful pictures of the two of them together to remember their engagement by. We'd chatted about the plans for their day and it was amazing to see every detail of their vision (okay: Bryony's vision!) brought to life a few months later. With a background in fashion it's no wonder she did such an amazing job of choosing the little details! I loved the stunning florals by Atelier Rosa floristry.
After the ceremony we took family and bridal party photographs on the front steps of the hotel and in the stunning foyer while the other guests enjoyed signature cocktails in the private bar downstairs.
The dinner setup was beautiful and elegant, with handwritten notes by the place setting for each guest as well as a delicious French macaron. Speeches were before dinner and after the meal, guests were invited to play one of the couple's favourite drinking games, Flippy Cup, with one side of the table racing against the other to finish first. It was hilarious and enjoyed by all - I loved capturing the expressions and their competitive spirits! The fun continued in the cinema room where the couple had set up a giant game of FIFA for the lads. I always say: your wedding, your way! The Jiggers wedding band then got everyone on the dancefloor for a ceilidh to kick the night off.
What made the day especially memorable was how the couple made it their own. Instead of sticking rigidly to tradition, they embraced fun and connection. It was a brilliant reminder that your wedding should reflect who you are, whether that’s elegant, playful, or a mix of both. If you’re planning a wedding at Kimpton Blythswood Square and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer in Glasgow who captures real moments as they unfold, I'd love to hear from you!
