Emma and Jesse travelled over from America with their friends and famillies to have a fairytale wedding at the incredible Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. I love to travel as part of my job and frequently work all over the UK as well as capturing weddings abroad, so it was really fun to come to this gorgeous venue (and sneak in a night away!). Grand and luxurious, with a unique circular fortress, the options for stunning wedding photographs here are endless. The courtyard, portcullis and sprawling driveway are perfect for photos and the hidden woodland just outside the entrance also caught my eye. Emma and Jesse were keen to have their couple's portraits taken during their afternoon reception as well as in the evening after dinner - something I always recommend, to make the most of your location while not spending too long away from your guests after your ceremony. The dramatic architecture inside the venue is totally breathtaking too - this venue absolutely has it all!
The morning was laid back and fun, and I took lots of candid shots of both the bride and her girls and the groom and groomsmen as they got ready for the ceremony. You can see what great spirits everyone was in and their chosen colour scheme of ivory and black gave a chic, classy vibe that befitted this stunning venue. Jesse had a fun surprise waiting for him as one of his groomsmen secretly took on the role of 'flower-man' before the bridesmaids made their entrance! Then Emma came in accompanied by her very proud father. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
The master of ceremonies for the day was The Tall Toastmaster, who helped organise confetti cannons to be released as the couple made their way back up the aisle after the ceremony. Paired with an iconic 'dip and kiss', this made for an elegant and memorable moment which I loved to capture!
Emma and Jesse had toasts and speeches before their wedding breakfast in the beautiful dining room, complete with candles and tapestries on the walls. After dinner we explored the grounds for more portraits as the sun was beginning to set, which was a lovely way for the couple to have a little more 'alone time' together too and soak everything in.
We kicked off the evening party with fireworks outside in the castle courtyard, then Emma and Jesse went inside to cut their cake with a medieval sword. The room looked gorgeous and they took to the illuminated dancefloor for their first dance, before inviting their guests up to join them. Everyone loved joining hands to sway to Emma's father's favourite from his Scottish childhood - Auld Lang Syne!
I had an incredible time capturing this wedding at Peckforton Castle - get in touch if you're planning to get married here as I would love to return soon!
