Fraser and Emma threw the celebration of a lifetime at The Byre at Inchyra, an incredible barn venue set in a 150 acre estate in Glencarse, Perthshire. What a versatile space, both rustic and luxurious and a gorgeous place to get married!
The ladies got ready in the ‘stableyard’ cottage opposite, with a big private dressing room, ideal for the glam squad to get to work in. I loved their sage green bridesmaid dresses and the pretty dried-flower hair garlands for the flower girls! Their florist Amy Annand worked her magic with their beautiful bouquets as well as spectacular floral displays inside the barn. The groom’s party and their families also stayed in cottages onsite, so nobody needed to worry about travel and could simply stroll to bed when the party ended!
Fraser’s father, a minister, conducted their marriage ceremony in a cosy partition of the barn, festooned with strings of dainty fairy lights for a charming rustic atmosphere. Ceremonies can also take place outdoors here, in the enchanting woodland or on the spacious lawn and guests can even camp for a true festival feel!
The Byre at Inchyra was especially beautiful in spring, with lilac wisteria and a haze of bluebells amongst the trees in the grounds. I took the couple for portraits in the grounds and walled garden, so they could enjoy some moments alone, before returning for family pictures under the trees on the lawn and in the stable yard before the call to dinner.
The dining area of the barn was set for a feast, with long banqueting tables, stunning greenery and floating candles galore. Fraser's dad acted as compere for their toasts during the meal – he was hilarious and definitely set the tone for the rest of the speeches!
After dinner the couple took a stroll together in the golden hour just before sunset for some lovely intimate portraits. Then the band (The Chart Society) got everyone onto the dancefloor with their fantastic music – one very eager guest even jumped up on stage to join them, making everyone laugh! The Byre at Inchyra is the ultimate barn venue for weddings and I would really love to return. If you’re planning a wedding at this incredible place, please get in touch!
