Jasmine and Malcolm married at Glasgow University Chapel, where they met whilst studying, with a relaxed and joy-filled garden party reception afterwards. Jasmine and her sisters got ready at Avonholm House, a stunning manor owned by her aunt and uncle. Jasmine opted for a timeless, elegant bridal style, featuring a classic dress with a long train, veil, and ivory gloves to complete her look. The bow on the back of her dress added a definite wow factor! I loved capturing the moment she stepped through the doors into the hallway where her family were waiting for a first look. Their heartfelt reactions were truly touching!
Ceremony Highlights in the Memorial Chapel The Chapel at Glasgow University is an architecturally stunning venue for weddings, featuring stained glass windows, wooden pews, and beautiful Gothic arches in the cloisters. Jasmine and Malcolm chose a Humanist celebrant to lead their ceremony, ensuring it was unique and personal to them. Following the ceremony, we captured some traditional family photos before the guests proceeded to the reception, allowing the bride and groom some private time for photographs around the quad.
Garden Party Reception & Candid Moments Jasmine and Malcolm made their entrance to the reception in a stunning ivory vintage car. I organized the guests to stand by on the driveway to toss confetti as a joyful welcome, before the bride's uncle performed the traditional 'addressing of the Haggis.' The couple also shared a drink from a family quaich to celebrate their union, choosing between Irn Bru or whiskey!
Jasmine and Malcolm spent time chatting with their guests, who had a great time playing lawn games and sipping cocktails under the sun. I captured plenty of relaxed, candid shots along with some group photos, then headed inside the marquee on the lawn for dinner, which was decorated with simple rustic charm and long trestle tables.
Guests were thrilled by the excellent speeches from both the Australian and American sides, along with toasts from family, friends, and both the bride and groom—a trend I’m enjoying seeing gain popularity and anticipate will increase in 2025!
I then departed, leaving the couple and their guests to enjoy their meal.
