Jess and Hector travelled from London to marry in Glen Clova, near Hector's family home. Covid-19 meant they had to downsize dramatically from their original plans, but still wanted to get married with just their closest family and friends watching and cheering them on. They had a relaxed, garden party style wedding which was both intimate and stylish and I loved every minute of their day!
Jess wore an exquisite dress and veil from Grace Loves Lace, and Imelda Pearl shoes by Charlotte Mills. The atmosphere was full of excitement while the bridesmaids did each others hair and makeup, and the bride's father waited for the emotional moment where he would see his daughter dressed as a bride for the very first time.
A piper welcomed the guests to Glen Clova Kirk, for a Humanist ceremony led by celebrant Lesley Yule. Lesley told the story of their relationship, from meeting at Manchester University to getting their beloved pup Freddie together last year; personal touches like these make every wedding unique and memorable.
Jess and Hector rented a holiday cottage courtesy of Glen Clova Hotel, with panoramic views of the hills and just a short stroll form the Kirk. The garden even had a little whisky and gin bothy, perfect for the guests to sample the couple's favourite tipples! Jess paid great attention to detail, decorating the marquee with garlands, hanging lights and arrangements of fresh and dried flowers. The groom's father made their wooden archway and the bride's mum arranged their rustic cheese tower - everyone came together to make their day extra special. As the evening drew in and the sun began to set, guests wrapped up in cosy tartan blankets and sipped champagne.
I took the bride and groom to a nearby fishing loch for some gorgeous portraits, before we rejoined their families for funny and moving speeches, with spontaneous stories and memories shared. That's another great thing about smaller celebrations - no nerves giving your speech, because everyone there is close family and friends!
When Jess and Hector received their photographs, they told me, "You have done the most wonderful job of capturing our day. We are thrilled. Thank you for going above and beyond." and I was especially pleased when Jess added, "I rarely like many photos of myself, but I love them all, which has honestly never happened to me before!" as my number one priority is to make EVERYONE feel beautiful in their pictures. If you're planning an intimate wedding, elopement or outdoorsy wedding, I'd love to be part of your love story.
