The Oystercatcher pub in Otter Ferry, on the shores of Loch Fyne, was the setting for Megan and Adam's July wedding. I had so much fun capturing their wonderful summer celebration! The whole day was relaxed and beautiful and this couple had so many fun ideas that it was a dream to photograph.
From the nervous excitement of the bride getting ready to the laughter shared among the groomsmen, my discreet and unobtrusive photography style puts a focus on the unscripted moments that make each wedding morning unique. My approach is to blend into the background so that it feels like my couples just have an extra friend around them. I'm there to take plenty of natural, emotion-filled pictures as well as assist with buttonholes, veils and more if needed - it never hurts to have another pair of hands!
Megan and Adam got ready with their friends and families in nearby accommodation before having a very special 'first look' together with their dog! This really took away any nerves before the ceremony and allowed us to make use of the lovely walled gardens and wildflower meadow beside their accommodation before they went along to the shore beside the Oystercatcher pub where their guests were arriving.
They married in a touching and joyful ceremony on beach, conducted by Humanist celebrant David Smith, and featuring their beloved dog as a special guest! The newlyweds made an excited walk through an aisle of their guests throwing confetti, and got on a boat for a spin around the bay. I joined them on board and got some gorgeous 'just married' pictures of them relishing the wind in their hair while guests helped themselves to tasty nibbles and drinks in the sunshine, enjoying the views across the water.
Loch Fyne looked stunning as the backdrop for their photographs with family and friends, and the couple had decorated a fabulous marquee beside the pub for their wedding dinner. Everyone was entertained by some excellent and emotional speeches before a tasty meal (this wedding definitely holds the record for the most Taylor Swift references and songs in a single day!).
Dinner was served with delicious food directly from the pub's own kitchen. After their meal, Megan and Adam took a stroll along the sand as the sun began to set, for more relaxed pictures together in the evening light. I absolutely loved these!
