Caitlin and Martyn married at Pratis Barns, in Fife, in October and I absolutely loved my first visit to this fantastic venue. With 3 different barn spaces that you can use for the day, the main “ceremony barn” and a second barn with reception spaces. This allows you to use the space in a unique way to make your day unique to you as a couple and means that you can set up the day before without the need to change over the spaces between your ceremony and meal.
Caitlin and Martyn wanted a rustic wedding, and they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location for it! Set in the rolling hills of Fife, Pratis Farm played host to their beautiful Scottish wedding. Both the bride's and groom's parties got ready in the cottage onsite, where I popped between them both the assist with getting ready and capture the finishing touches. I loved their families' emotional reactions to seeing them dressed and ready to go and get married! I was accompanied by videographers Austin and Alex of We Are One Wedding Films - it was so great to work together again! Makeup was done by @makeupbymeganr and hair was styled by Jenna Barr.
The couple said “I do” in an old stone barn, decorated with cream chairs, pillar candles and a stunning altar archway. Florist team Ivy & Thistle created wonderful centrepieces for the tables and ceremony arch, as well as gorgeous bouquets with a rich warm colour palette for Caitlin and her bridesmaids. Humanist celebrant Tim Maguire crafted a very personal and unique ceremony, telling the story of the couple's journey together so far and including their guests in a fun 'Mr and Mrs' style voting game! Afterwards we walked out for a fun confetti throw.
The couple were joined by their adorable little Dachshund for come cute pictures after the ceremony. We then went back inside the barn for family photographs as it had begun to drizzle, but the rain didn't dampen their spirits - besides, it would have been a travesty not to showcase that stunning altarpiece as a backdrop! The other guests enjoyed drinks, games and canapes in the main barn (the baby Guinness station was a huge hit!) and the bride and groom stole a few moments alone exploring the pretty grounds around the courtyard for their portraits before rejoining their guests.
