The magnificent castle, manicured gardens and marvellous location at Crossbasket was a truly beautiful setting for Steffi and Jordan's summer wedding.
Steffi and her bridal party got ready at home with makeup done by Lynn Brown Makeup. Her timeless hairstyle complimented her classic and elegant dress. The deep green bridesmaid dresses were by David's Bridal and got lots of compliments! I'm always on hand to help brides get ready in case they need an extra pair of hands.
Jordan and his groomsmen greeted the guests before the ceremony, while they waited for the bride's car to arrive and I captured lots of natural pictures of everyone mingling and enjoying arrival drinks in the gardens and by the fountain.
Their Humanist ceremony was conducted in the wedding chapel by celebrant Natalie Stevenson, and included a hand fasting ('tying the knot') and dozens of candles lining the aisle to the altar.
After the ceremony I directed everyone outside to form an aisle for a colourful confetti shower. Steffi and Jordan then enjoyed drinks, canapes and mingling with their guests while they basked in that ‘just married’ feeling. We took group photographs in front of the castle including their vintage Rolls Royce wedding car before exploring the beautiful grounds for the couple's portraits. It wouldn’t have been the same without their lovely Labrador Nala being included in some photographs, and she adored playing her part!
The wedding breakfast was served in the impressive Roosevelt Grand Hall overlooking the River Calder. Steffi and Jordan made their entrance to whoops and cheers from their guests as they shared a kiss at the top of the staircase before walking down together to begin the speeches. After dinner the couple cut their wedding cake and enjoyed live music for their first dance.
The bride and groom said:
"We cannot thank Natalie enough for our amazing photographs of our wedding day. All of our family & friends have commented on how incredible our photos are & we could not agree more. From the very first contact with Natalie we knew that she was the right photographer for us, we wanted natural shots of our day & from looking at her Facebook & Instagram we knew that she was what we were looking for. She is so professional, nothing is a hassle for her, in fact she even helped my mum & maid of honour do up my buttons on my dress when it was proving difficult! A lot of our guests commented that they didn’t even notice her taking any photos which made it all the more natural looking, exactly what we wanted. Natalie you are absolutely amazing at what you do & we could not recommend you enough. Thank you so much for documenting our day for us in such a special way."
