Kinmount House is one of my favourite luxury wedding venues in Scotland. The grand 19th century house is set amongst acres of private land, with woodland, lakes and manicured lawns as well as a purpose-built pavillion building for the evening party. I arrived early to explore Kinmount House and capture both the bride and groom getting ready. The girls were upstairs in a spacious suite with plenty of natural light, while the boys added their finishing touches in the library room, and played a few rounds of pool to help distract from any pre-wedding nerves!
Colleen and Ross had a Humanist ceremony under a marquee on the lawn, which was tailored to be unique and personal to them. After they had tied the knot, I lined the guests up outside for a fun confetti shower and we even got a whole group photograph of all the guests before they made their way back to the terrace for drinks and canapes.
We took group photographs with family and friends outdoors in the formal gardens while the finishing touches were being made to the table decorations for dinner. The long trestle table setup works so well in this space, with fresh florals and greenery down the centres for an elegant yet rustic feel.
The extensive grounds at Kinmount House offer so many beautiful locations for pictures, we were spoiled for choice. I suggested a stroll around the formal gardens before heading down the ancient stone steps to a hidden lake; the couple's adorable dog joined us here for a few 'family' pictures too! Then while guests were being seated for dinner at the Pavillion, we went into the main house for some photographs upstairs. The grand staircase, domed ceiling and balcony inside are breathtaking!
After dinner, as the sun began to set, its beautiful golden light beckoned us outdoors. We rode a golf buggy down to the lake to capture some shots inside the Victorian boating house - the view across the water was incredibly romantic! This is a real must for anyone getting married at Kinmount House!
Back at the Pavilion, guests were enjoying after-dinner cocktails, while the lads were having a blast playing games on the lawn. Colleen and Ross ignited their evening celebration by cutting their stunning cake, then they dazzled everyone on the dancefloor with a brilliant first dance. The sparkling ceiling added a magical touch, making every photograph truly pop!
