This wedding at Castello Oldofredi on an island in Lake Iseo was a perfect reminder that even the most carefully planned days can still hold a few surprises. Set in one of Italy’s most beautiful locations, the day began with warm sunshine and excited anticipation—right up until a sudden summer thunderstorm swept in and turned the outdoor ceremony plans upside down. Rather than dampen the mood, it brought everyone closer together as the vows were moved under cover, creating an intimate and atmospheric moment full of laughter and emotion. And then, just as quickly as it arrived, the storm passed. The clouds lifted, the sun returned, and the rest of the day unfolded in the most incredible way. With golden light flooding the courtyard, guests gathered for a joyful reception filled with great food, flowing drinks, and that unmistakable Italian sense of celebration. Megan got ready in the stunning pastel coloured bridal suite surrounded by her bridesmaids, while Charlie got ready upstairs with his groomsmen, making it easy for me to move between both groups and capture all the excitement and anticipation as the day unfolded. I loved capturing everyone's emotional moments, from laughter to happy tears!

Charlie waited eagerly for the moment he would finally see his bride arrive. Their ceremony was beautifully simple and heartfelt, focused on the two of them and the people closest to them. As soon as they were pronounced married, everyone spilled out into the courtyard for a joyful shower of confetti.

After the ceremony, guests loved spending time mingling outside with drinks in hand, enjoying the warm Italian atmosphere and a fabulous charcuterie table filled with local treats. It was the perfect relaxed start to the reception, with laughter and conversation flowing as everyone soaked up the views. Meanwhile, we gathered for group photographs with the beautiful waters of Lake Iseo providing an unforgettable backdrop.

Megan and Charlie took some time away together to wander down the cobblestone steps for a few quiet moments together. We explored the charming corners around Castello Oldofredi and the picturesque harbour below, capturing relaxed portraits against the colourful buildings and shimmering lake. It was a lovely, peaceful pause in the day and the perfect chance for them to soak it all in.

The dinner room at Castello Oldofredi was already so classic and elegant that it needed very little decoration to look beautiful—just simple fresh flowers, pillar candles and soft ivory linens to complete the look. The timeless character of the space created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for the evening celebrations. Guests enjoyed glasses of delicious local wine and raised plenty of toasts during a round of heartfelt, entertaining speeches before the meal.

As the day rolled into evening, we were treated to a spectacular sunset over the lake that bathed the couple in a golden glow. The celebration flowed effortlessly into lively dancing, with guests filling the floor and enjoying every minute of the party. Later, the couple headed outside to cut their cake beneath the warm evening air, before the night ended in style with a magical tunnel of sparklers lighting their way.
